Rules

These were the 2002 rules. Next years rules might be a little different.

Entries will be displayed here permanently, so to enter you need to consent to have your work displayed. Each entry will have its own page.

This contest is to promote our forum, so to enter you must sign up for a free account at Delphi forums and post to the contest thread. We hope you will also join in our discussions, but that's not required. Everyone who enters will be encouraged to vote at the conclusion of the contest.

Theme: Merfolk or Other Legendary Water Beings

Deadline: November 12, 2002

Entries: Any type of fiction that includes our theme can be submitted. It could be a story or just a scene, a fictional biography or an interesting description, even a short play. Have fun with it!

Length: No absolute limit, but aim for under 1500 words, perhaps well under. To get votes you'll have to keep the attention of readers pressed for time, so entries should be either short or damn interesting! ;o)

Quantity: Up to 3 entries per person.

Submissions: You can upload entries as text (.txt) files here, or paste your entry into this form. Please leave a blank line between paragraphs! I also need the title, the name or nickname you'd like to be credited under, and your email address. You must post to the contest thread when you submit your entry, then I'll make a page for it here on the contest website.

Judging: Forum regulars, and anyone who submits an entry, will vote for any entries except their own for first, second and third place.

Prizes: Our undying admiration! Plus a small award graphic for your sig or webpage, if you like. Also, fiction entered in the contest will be archived on the forum homepage, so you must agree to this to enter!

Previously started pieces and re-worked pieces are fine, just be sure to make some changes if you're submitting an older work. You can't use anything entered in previous contests, but since this is our first prose contest that shouldn't be a problem!

This is a general audience forum. Sensual is OK, but not pornographic. Thank you.
